Routine GP plus a limited range of other appointment types can be booked online or alternatively appointments to see a doctor or one of the nursing team can be arranged by visiting the surgery or by telephoning 0117 9612161

We routinely offer a telephone triage service.  In this way we are able to ensure that clinically urgent problems are prioritised and offer telephone advice and medications for many non-urgent problems.  Urgent problems will be seen within 24 hours.  Please be aware that receptionists will ask you for details of your problem so that they can best direct you for care.

THINK BEFORE YOU BOOK

There is a huge demand for GP appointments.  Before booking a routine GP appointment, please read the guidelines below to help you judge what appointment, if any, is required:

  • Please do not book an appointment if you only need repeat medication or medical paperwork completing.  For information about making an administrative request, click here

  • GPs in this practice do not prescribe antibiotics for infections which usually get better on their own such as colds and flu.

Many conditions do not require a GP appointment - to see what type of appointment to book for a range of common conditions, please click here and:

     - for conditions listed in blue, book an appointment with our minor illness nurse

    - for conditions listed in red, consider visiting your local pharmacy - to read more about conditions pharmacists can help with, click here (Bristol CCG information) and here (NHS Choices information)

  • If you have a new medical query, or follow-up query from a previous consultation, that you feel can be dealt with by telephone, please ask reception to book you a telephone consult.  Your query may be directed to your GP, the nurse practitioner or the practice pharmacist, as relevant.

  • We encourage you to see the same doctor for on-going problems.  All patients, including children, are allocated a named, accountable GP, referred to as your 'Usual GP'.  If your Usual GP is fully booked you can choose to wait until he or she is available or have an appointment with another doctor or our minor illness nurse.

We send SMS text message appointment reminders
Please ensure we have your correct mobile number.  If you would like to opt out of text message reminders, please contact us.

Home Visits

We encourage patients to attend the surgery whenever possible as there are more facilities available. If you are too ill to come to the surgery a doctor may visit you at home.  Please telephone before 10am to request a home visit.  The reception staff will ask for details of the illness to allow the doctor to assess the urgency.  A doctor may telephone you to obtain more information and to establish whether a home visit is required.
