  • February 2018 Patient Newsletter now available - including more information about practice merger

  • Improving access to general practice: evening and weekend appointments available - Patients who are registered at this practice can book an appointment to see a GP or nurse on weekday evenings (after 6.30pm) or at the weekends (Saturday/Sunday). Appointments will either take place at this practice or at a nearby GP practice. This is part of a national drive to help improve access to general practice and get the best possible outcomes for patients

  • NHS Health Checks now bookable online - please check you are eligible first. This service may cease June 2018 so book whilst you can - appointments available now.  Wed 7.30am appointments available for telephone booking only

  • Planned merger of St George Health Centre & Lodgeside Surgery from April 2018 - you will still be able to see a doctor or nurse at your usual practice and will have access to appointments at both sites.  Your views on this plan are welcomed - see our joint patient letter for more information

  • Travel vaccination appointments are currently limited - if you are unable to book an appointment at least 6 weeks before you travel, we regret that we will not be able to offer you this service

  • GPs: Dr Armstrong has left the practice, being replaced by Dr Andy Lyon on 10 July 2017.  Dr Charles Warburton started in August 2017 and will be working here as a GP registrar for 3 months.  Dr Anna Faircloth will be starting at the end of August 2017 and will be here for 4 months.

  • Talking Money - appointments in the surgery have now ceased.  They can be contacted directly for advice, support and information regarding welfare, debt, budgeting and housing

  • Our Patient Group, with the support of practice staff, have produced their first newsletter to inform you about practice developments.  Patients who have given us a valid email address should have received this link by email 24/1/17. Printed copies are available in the practice


  • The pilot e-Consult service which enabled you to 'contact our doctors online' ceased as of the end of December 2016.  We may be able to offer this service/similar again in future but no replacement is currently planned.

  • Online Care Record access was re-launched on 22/7/16.  Due to the technical work required to enable access to coded data on illnesses, your care record access may have changed so you can no longer see Immunisations and Test results.  This access can be re-requested, with an additional application process for access to coded data

  • We are working to implement the Accessible Information Standard by 31/7/16.  If you have a disability or impairment that affects communication, please let us know how we can provide you with support, such as information in an alternative format (e.g. large print). Details can be emailed to us

  • We have changed our system in order to streamline all your Long Term Conditions review appointments into the month of your birthday

  • New times for Baby Clinic


  • Electronic Prescribing: Our practice and local pharmacies are now offering this new service.  For more information, see Prescriptions

  • Our 2014/15 Patient Participation Report is now available here (26/3/15)

  • Summary Care Record data sharing: this was enabled on 2/2/15.  Please see Data Sharing for further information, including links to opt-out forms for you to use if necessary.  The information from your record that will be shared is available for you to view on EMIS Patient Access


  • GP Partners: Dr Boone has now retired, with Dr Mike Armstrong joining the practice in his place on 16 June 2014.

  • Text reminders for appointments are now being sent.  Please check and update your mobile phone number with Reception as necessary or inform us if you do not wish to receive text reminders

  • Online Appointment Booking is now available (routine GP appointments only).  If you would like the ability to request repeat medication and manage your appointments over the internet, please attend the surgery in person and ask for a registration letter for EMIS Patient Access For more information click here


  • Practice clinical IT system: On Tuesday 4 June 2013 we moved our patient care records from the Synergy Medical records system to EMIS Web.

  • GP Partners: Dr Owen retired on 5 April 2013, with Dr Christopher Tasker joining the practice in her place on 2 April 2013.  Dr Kerrie Gray, who joined us as a new partner in December 2012, changed her name to Dr Wainwright in April 2013, after getting married.

  • CQC: The practice has been successfully registered with the Care Quality Commission. This is the new health watchdog regulating care in England, making sure that essential standards of quality and safety are being met
