Travel Vaccinationsglobal air travel

Travel vaccination appointments are limited - if you are unable to obtain an appointment at least 6 weeks before you travel, we regret that we will not be able to offer you this service and you will be asked to source private travel advice.

We have introduced a new system for patients requiring vaccinations relating to foreign travel - please see our Travel Vaccination letter for more information.

You will need to complete the risk assessment form before booking a 20 minute appointment in our Travel Clinic which is held weekly on Friday afternoons (TBC)

It is important to make this initial appointment as early as possible - at least 6 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment will be required with the practice nurse to actually receive the vaccinations.  These vaccines have to be ordered as they are not a stock vaccine.  Your second appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription and these incur a charge over and above the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.

Please be aware that if you fail to attend a booked Travel Clinic appointment you will not be offered an opportunity to rebook - you will need to find an alternative travel vaccination provider (see links below)

Information about vaccinations required for different countries is available via the links below, taken from Fit for Travel (an NHS Scotland website with information for people travelling abroad from the UK).  For travel in the EU, there is useful information on the Europa website
