Extended Hours

Working within our current staffing capacity we are doing our best to ensure that you have access to additional appointments outside of our core opening hours.

As a result you may be offered an early morning (before 8am) or evening (after 6.30pm) appointment. If this is something you would prefer please ask about availability when booking an appointment.

Saturday morning surgeries are held at our St George site with GP and a range of other routine clinician appointments bookable in advance - the practice is not open to other callers and the telephones are unmanned.

Christmas & New Year arrangements

Between Monday 21st December and Saturday 2nd January we will be maintaining our urgent care services and providing routine appointments where possible.

The practice is always closed on Bank Holidays - please ensure prescription requests are made well in advance at holiday periods to ensure you do not run out of medication.

Local Pharmacy opening hours for the next Bank Holiday can be found here once agreed

Associated Services

For Baby Clinic times, see our Mother and Child section.  Please note: during the Covid-19 pandemic, Baby Clinics are not running at St George.

The Well Pharmacies at each site are separate businesses to the practice, with their own opening hours for St George and Lodgeside.  From 3/5/21 neither will be open on Saturdays

When we are closed

18:30-08:00 Mon-Fri, Weekends, Bank Holidays

Severnside Integrated Urgent Care Service (IUC) is a 24/7 NHS Urgent Care Service which combines NHS 111 and the Out of Hours service across the Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG) area.  This allows you to speak to a clinician when you urgently need to and the practice is closed.

If you need medical help or advice when the Health Centre is closed but it's not life-threatening:

  • telephone 111 (free from landlines and mobiles) and/or
  • visit www.111.nhs.uk for health information online

For more information about the IUC service, visit About Severnside IUC

THINK 111 FIRST

The 111 First campaign this winter will be encouraging you to contact NHS 111 prior to visiting any local emergency or acute setting, i.e.

  • Emergency Departments
  • Minor Injuries Units (MIU in Yate)
  • South Bristol Urgent Care Centre (UTC)

If you need a face-to-face assessment or treatment, NHS 111 will make sure you receive this in the right place, at the right time. This will alert the service to your arrival and help reduce the risk of passing COVID-19 to others.
